Sons of Arrakis (SOA) is a Montreal-based band formed in 2019 and deeply inspired by Frank Herbert’s Dune saga. Blending massive riffs with immersive science-fiction atmospheres, the band has forged a distinctive sound described as Melange Rock and Cinematic Sci-Fi Rock.

Their debut album, Volume I (2022), reached #1 on the Doom Charts in June 2022 and ranked #8 in the year-end recap. Their sophomore album, Volume II (2024), climbed to #3 on the Doom Charts in July 2024 and landed in the Top 10 of the 2024 year-end rankings, further establishing SOA within the international heavy rock scene.

Since its formation, Sons of Arrakis has toured extensively across Canada, the United States, Mexico and Europe. In January 2025, the band embarked on its first U.S. run with The Great Scattering – Part II alongside Salem’s Bend, performing in California and Nevada and appearing at Planet Desert Rock Weekend IV.

In July 2025, SOA made its UK debut at Stoom Fest in London. The band returned to Europe in September and October 2025 for an extensive tour that included appearances at Into the Void Fest and Up in Smoke Festival, marking another major step in its international expansion.

In July and August 2026, Sons of Arrakis returned to Europe for another festival run, performing at Rock Im Wald, Krach am Bach, Blue Moon Festival, Free & Easy Festival, Gößnitz Open Air, Trafostation 61 and Sauzipf Rocks in Austria. Just weeks later, the band headed west for a Canadian Prairies tour, sharing stages with legendary Canadian progressive metal band Voivod and appearing at Infest in Edmonton in early September.

With an increasingly strong presence on both sides of the Atlantic, Sons of Arrakis is now preparing the next chapter of its journey: a new album and an ambitious slate of releases, touring and projects for 2027 and beyond.
